What is Gift Your Gear?
Gift Your Gear is an independent nationwide initiative that provides outdoor clothing and equipment to UK community organisations, youth groups and charities working with young people in the outdoors. Founded by Sarah Howcroft, Gift Your Gear aims to encourage people to donate unwanted outdoor gear they no longer want or need.

What does Gift Your Gear do with donated gear?
All donated outdoor clothing and equipment that is reusable and fit for purpose is offered to community organisations, youth groups and charities working with young people in the outdoors.

How do I donate my gear?
Gift Your Gear can arrange to have your donated gear collected by a local group. Please click this link fill out the form and we will do the rest.

Gift Your Gear can receive direct donations by post. How to donate by post

What can I donate?
The short answer most outdoor clothing and equipment can be donated by to Gift Your Gear. We do have a few exceptions.

Are there any Gift Your Gear events that I can take part in?
Gift Your Gear will be partnering with various UK outdoor organisations. Details will be posted on our Facebook, Twitter and Gift Your Gear.

How does Gift Your Gear select possible beneficiaries?
If you represent or know of a community organisations, youth groups or charity working with young people in the outdoors that could benefit from Gift Your Gear and meets the Gift Your Gear Criteria please let us know. Potential beneficiaries will be verified. Gift Your Gear beneficiaries should be located working in the UK.

How do beneficiaries use the outdoor gear from Gift Your Gear?
All Gift Your Gear beneficiaries are encouraged to create a gear pool to ensure the maximum number of young people over the longest period get the benefit of the donated gear.
