Gift Your Gear – It makes a difference March 2017

We thought we would share a few of the Gift Your Gear beneficiary stories

Organisation: Volunteer Police Cadets Blackpool and Fylde. The group collected their Gift Your Gear box from Rohan Preston.

The police cadets, are involved in local events such as fairs, festivals and other local events. They also help the local neighbourhood policing teams with crime prevention initiatives and community engagement activities through duties such as leaflet drops, alcohol test purchasing, community safety events and street surveys, official ceremonies and much more.

They get involved within the Blackpool and Fylde community by fund raising, charity work, They also learn new skills through classroom and activity based sessions. The Cadets are embarking on the Duke of Edinburgh and monthly walks. The cadets come from various backgrounds and some do not or cannot obtain the required walking gear like waterproofs, boots, bags, tents etc.

We have purchased a few things through Fund Raising- but are unable to provide any kit to the cadets and this means some are missing out on great opportunities. – Jen Volunteer Police Cadets Blackpool and Fylde.

Thank you for the Gift Your Gear box that you sent the cadets – We collected it last week and you have allowed some cadets to mountain bike in Gisburn forest and walk up Ingelborough cave.

You have made a difference to so many cadets – Thank you
